Disputes

Race officials reserve the right to modify the race rules contained in this document before, during and after the adventure race, if deemed necessary. Race officials will be able to make subjective judgments on the course during the race if the rules do not explicitly state how a specific situation should be handled. Explicit race rules may be disregarded by a race official if it is deemed necessary for safety reasons. All decisions made by the course officials will be final unless a dispute (see Disputes) is filed by the effected team(s) following the race.

Basic Rules
• Each team must consist of three people that have met the participation requirements. This year will also include a solo division.
• Each team of three must complete the designated course as marked.
• Each team must pass through the designated checkpoints in numerical order.
• Team members must stay within 100 feet of each other throughout the race.
• Each team must complete each special test successfully.
• Race numbers must be displayed by all three team members at all times during the race.  Race numbers don’t have to be on the bike if they’re visible on your person.
• No outside assistance is permitted at any time during the race.
• Teams still on the course at the designated race cut-off time will be disqualified but may complete the course if race officials give permission.
• Teams that have been disqualified for reasons such as failure to complete a special test or loss of a teammate due to injury or equipment failure will be allowed to finish the course as long as at least two team members are present at each checkpoint and special test.
• Teams that were disqualified for severe safety or rules infractions, as determined by the race officials, must leave the course on foot and return to the race headquarters immediately.

Safety
Any action by a racer that is deemed by a race official to be reckless or hazardous may result in disqualification of the entire team. Any equipment that is deemed unsafe or potentially dangerous will not be allowed in the race. Corrective action may be taken by the racer(s) in order to remedy the situation if possible. Otherwise, the team will be disqualified from the race and forced to leave the course immediately.

Disputes
The team captain, as designated on the registration form, may file a dispute with the Head Race Official up to one hour following the designated race cut-off time. The decisions of the Head Race Official are final.
