USS Alabama
by Tony Peregoy
Well, if you can say anything about us, it is that we are ready
to go camping at a moments notice. This Travco was not made to sit on a
driveway. Last summer, we ventured down to Mobile, Alabama to visit
my son in college. He had a summer job while waiting for his senior year
to begin. My dad went along for the ride and we were taking everyone to
tour the USS Alabama. She's a famous WWII battleship.

Granddad gives Jonah a front seat view while we travel. The
trip takes about 4 hours or a little less. We were in motion so this was a
"hold up the camera - shoot - hope for the best" picture. I
couldn't exactly pose a shot while driving.
There is a large bridge on the top side of the Mobile
area. At the summit, it offers a great view of the bay area.
The kids think these big bridges are so cool.
The ship was moored in Mobile bay. She is a permanent
addition and a popular tourist attraction.

Granddad, Tina, and Jared pose with Joshua and Jonah. This was taken
in the mess hall, which surrounded a gun turret. The turret assembly
extended for five stories.
