WATER HEATER

An electric water heater, for an RV or home, cannot heat without water.  One of the primary reasons the heater doesn't work is a bad heating element.  It primarily goes out because it was heating an empty tank.

To check the heater, use a volt meter to test the contact points of the input power.  This is 120 V so use appropriate caution.

If power not present, check the circuit breaker.  If power is present, test the power to the heating element.

If you are receiving power to the positive and negative points on the heating element, yet the unit won't heat water, your element is bad.

Replacement is fairly simply.  The element cause under $20.  You may, however, need a special tool to remove the element.  Due to tank case construction, only a large socket or pipe wrench will resolve the problem.  Both the element removal tool and a replacement element are available at True Value.

DRAIN PIPES

A roadside repair was all that could be managed for this broken sink drain pipe.  The elbow was cracked into two pieces.  The pipe was separated.  Duct tape (half of a southern tool chest) was the immediate solution.  The repair was easy once I had the parts.

WATER LINES

Most of these water lines had been replaced.  Despite the messy look, they all work fine.  The water pump seemed bad, but it was just a faulty power lead.  You can see another one was set up.  Behind the shut-off valve (red handle) is the outlet drain.  This simply drops down through the floor and into the ground.  The white hose leading to the left goes to the water tank, just inches away, but under the rear seating deck.
