Exhaust System Replacement
by Roscoe Tomlin
A close look reveals the
Headman headers replacing the stock cast-iron exhaust manifolds. I'm hoping
for an increase in performance as well as mileage.

Here we have a shot below the engine
showing the clearance of the Headman headers and new motor mounts. The
next view is of the Flowmaster muffler
showing the construction and materials used. This is a quality H P
product. The tubing will be 2 1/2 inch .075 wall thickness.
A shot from the rear while the
tailpipe for the left side of the engine is being bent, this shows the completed
right system with all welds completed and brackets-hangers installed - 3 for
each side.
The only thing visible outside the coach that hints of what is below the floor of the coach is these 2 , 2 3/4"
chrome exhaust tips. Looks good, sounds good. $400.00 well spent, If you have any questions about this restoration
Email Roscoe at wiroto@prodigy.net.
This is a rearward view of work in progress. note the supports holding the pipes
and muffler up so clearances can be assured, then all joints will be spot
welded, entire system removed as a unit and all joints mig welded and unit
re-installed.
Two photos of the dog house outside and inside showing
reinforcement. Foam insulation is yet to be added.
Inside of dog house showing braces. Hope to have
insulation in tomorrow.
